Functional neuro symptoms?

hi, I had a neurological event thing in May 2013, headache, numbness right side, weakness and a few other things, the neuro who saw me sent me to a psychiatrist who said it was conversion disorder, a second psychiatrist disagreed as there are organic elements to my case.

My MRI shows multiple t2 hyperintensites, I have brisk reflexes and Lhermitte sign. My balance is not very good either.  My question is is it possible to have functional neuro symptoms and something organic happening too?

thanks, I have had two neurologists and two psychiatrists see me, the two psych was cos one left while I was in the system. My private neuro thinks my diagnosis is somewhere between migraine and ms, but by going off all the medications I was on my headaches issues improved till 2 weeks ago when it all went downhill again.

My GP is looking at all, the options and just trying to make sure we can handle whatever symptoms I am dealing wiht

It's very possible to have the two things occurring at the same time.  However, if you are still uncertain, or not accepting of either diagnosis, it would benefit you to get another opinion.  Being at ease with normal or abnormal body processes is part of the ongoing battle that we all share in.  Especially because we are not infallible, and that includes MDs as well.  Good luck!
