Fusion of C6-7 done 2 years ago. Now having terible arm pains.

I'm posting for my father. He has had bone fusion of C6-7 done twice. The first 4 years ago and the last was 2years ago. The first it did not work, but they say the last time was a sucess and still is.
But NOW he is in horrible pain after sitting still. Any type of being still makes it worse. Sitting in a chair, sleeping any stillness causes terrible ARM PAIN. He said it starts as a ache and turns into stabbing pain. Last night I thought he was vomiting, but he was actually making this sound in pain. He takes lots of pain meds a night, but it does nothing. The Drs. aren't sure what up. Please help
