GBM 3rd resection and new tumor growth

Oct. 2008, husband DX with GBM. Last week was his 3rd resection to remove necrosus and the path came back stating it was also 4 tissue samples were GBM. He is weakened on the left side since the last surgery and his glucose is through the roof due to steroids. My question is with the new tumor growth (radiaition ended in Jan 29, 2008 and last chemo was in feb 15th) should he really do chemo will it really do any good? His quality of life is going downhill quickly. He gets disoriented and incontinent now. He is a good man and so very brave. But, I don't want him to suffer.

I can understand your position and this is certainly not an easy decision. It is important to weight the benefits of chemotherapy against his current quality of life and expected future benefits with chemotherapy.
It is difficult to give a clinical opinion without looking at the patient. Please discuss this with your friends and family and his doctor since chemotherapy itself has side effects.
