Gamma knife for temporal lobe E

by jefftj, Aug 23, 2007 09:15PM
I was wondering if anyone else has had gamma knife surgery for temporal lobe epilepsy and what your outcome is. I had gamma knife surgery on 8/11/04 and have not gone into status epilepticus in at least 2 years. I was having status epilepticus seizures at least once a month for 25 years. I was having very regular seizures, about every 28 days untill 2005. They increased in frequency but not in intensity in 2005. Over the past year they have slowly decreased in numbers. I've gone 67 days clean as of today, wow. This is a record for me and I feel great about it. The National Institute of Health considers gamma knife surgery for TLE a success if you go 3 months without a seizure, I think I'll make it this time. Good luck to all the people here fighting the battles of life, we will win.  Jeff
