Dear Jennifer,
Glossopharyngeal
neuralgiaCluster headaches
Neuralgia
Trigeminal neuralgia is a stabbing pain that is localized to the
tongueTongue tie or
throatCancer - throat or larynx
Throat swab culture. Occasionaly, the pain may radiate to the jaw or
earEar barotrauma
Ear discharge
Ear emergencies
Ear examination
Ear tube insertion
Ear tube insertion - series. The pain can be triggered by coughing, sneezing or swallowing. The clinical history is important for the diagnosis. Also, temporary blocking of the pain after anesthetizing the tonsils and back of the throat with 10% lidiocaine can be diagnostic. Discuss this option with your doctor. If you are interested in getting an evaluation at CCF call, 1-800-CCF-CARE. Good Luck.
