Growing out of my seizure disorder????

by owen21, Nov 28, 2007 03:52PM
I had my first grand mal seizure in my sleep at the age of 12 - I am now 32. I would have 6-10 serious grand mals per year for many years but only while sleeping. As each year passed, the seizures became less violent, shorter in length, and would occur less often. From here the nocturnal seizures were calmer, limited, and were replaced with conscience complex partials - 3 times a year to having only 1 every year. Auras such as itch skin, bitter taste, smell, and deja vu have always been evident, but have also disappeared over time and are very limited to occur. In the past year I have had 4 or 5 experiences of "insomnia?", which has never occurred before. Suffering from tingling legs when I'm ready for bed, and not being able to fall asleep until 4:00AM. I know that this is a common side effect of monosodium glutamate, but it has never happen before now, so is it possible that this "imsomnia" occurring every 4 to 5 months is the next step in the process of growing out of my nocturnal seizure disorder?

Hi Owen,
How are you feeling now?
It is difficult to say whether having Insomnia means growing out of seizure disorder.
Insomnia is a normal phenomenon which affects most of us.
If there are no other persistent annoying symptoms present while you are not having seizure, mean you are getting better.
Hope this helps.
Bye.
