Hi,
You should look for signs like blurring of vision, disturbance in vision, severe projectile vomiting, unconsciousness, seizures, any bleeding from ears, nose, and inability to move any limb.
You should be alarmed about these signs.
You should always be accompanied by somebody who can rush in case of emergency till dates for your appointment comes.
Bye.
Hi,
I belive that i was on pain meds in the hospital. they kept me for about 24 hours, once sent home the gave me a prescription for pain. I am not worried so much about the pain as i am worried about the reason for the pain. Dont get me wrong it is very painfull but i am worried that it could be some condition causing this. I am pleased to hear that it is common to have bad headaches after a trauma because it was scaring me because the pain is getting pretty bad. Is it also common for the pain to go into neck and for the neck to be stiff.
what signs should i look for to alarmed about. thank you again
Hi William,
Well, I don't think there could be still bleeding, as the symptoms would have been more like tingling and numbness on left side, paralysis or unable to move your limbs etc.
I think you were on strong pain killers earlier, which have been now changed to NSAID'S as it is routinely done.
What medications were you on?
As I told it is common to have bad headaches after such a trauma.
If you feel like vomiting, severe irritability, blurring of vision etc, please report to ER immediately.
Bye.
i have pain in my neck and left side of head. the same side that i hit. it is really hurting near my eye. Is there a chance that there could still be bleeding. or is it normal to have a bad headache for a while after trauma? thanks
Hi,
Headache arising after head injury is a well-recognized phenomenon. Headaches triggered by trauma can include migraine, tension-type headache, or even cluster headache. There may be associated complaints of memory impairment and dizziness, as well as memory and concentration difficulties. Management of posttraumatic headache should be directed specifically towards the most clearly recognized headache pattern.
You can be active for a while but not while having headache.
Bye.
