hi
the pain in my head is almost unbearable.  I am wondering what it is.  If it is a injured nerve that would actually make me feel better.  I really am scarred about the bleeding though.  Its kinda a sharp pain.  When i bend down it hurts worse.  I cant figure out what it is. When i did go to the doctors they said it could aslo be muscles spasms.  I would like to have an idea of what it is.  Thanks for posting and replying.

Hi.

Aside from a concussion, there is also the possibility of a whiplash injury, especially with your presentation of neck pain and stiffness. This is a very common injury sustained during a motor vehicle accident.

While your CT scan did not reveal any bleeding, I would advise you to observe for any symptoms that would indicate a slow bleed, which might have not been evident on initial brain imaging.  You should watch out for dizziness, nausea, vomiting, increased head pressure, and change in sensorium. If you experience any of this in a progressive manner, you should consult a physician immediately.

Good luck.

FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR REPLYING.  WHAT IS THE NERVE CALLED THAT IS IN THE NECK OR HEAD.  HOW TO I GO ABOUT MENTIONING THIS TO MY DOCTOR.  I REALLY HOPE THIS IS THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF BLEEDING OR ANY OTHER CONDITION.  HOW LONG DO SYMPTOMS LAST. IT DID NOT HURT UNTILL I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL.  I ALSO DO NOT HAVE BLEEDING THROUGH EARS OR CHANGE OF VISION WHICH MAY BE A GOOD SIGN. WOULD IT BE A PAIN CONSTANT OR LIKE A SHARP PAIN.  THANKS AGAIN.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello.

I have seen both of your posts. I hope the pain reduces as you are reading this.

There is one more reason why you could be having this pain. (since your CT scan was clear). There is a nerve which passess through the neck muscles. In case of car accidents, where the neck gets a sudden jerk, the nerve may get injured. And this causes one sided pain reaching upto the eye. It sometimes looks like migraine.

It is obvious that you can not meet the physician before your scheduled appoinment on the 11th. You may try relaxing the neck muscles.

Hope it helps.

Hi william,
As I just mentioned in other post, that it is normal to have such a bad headache. Either you can meet the physician and get yourself adequate dose of medicine or change to different class of medicine, which would help you in getting control of this pain.
Alternatively if such a headache is associated with vomiting, any bleeding through ears, irritability, change in vision or unconsciousness, it suggest that the pressure in your head is increasing, which needs to be acted upon soon.
Surgical decompression is recommended.
Hope this helps you.
Bye.
