I just recently had a cerebral A.V.M. removed from the left occipital region of my brain. I've been home for about 2weeks and a couple of days ago my hair began to come out.  It wasnt near the incision. Yesterday it also begain coming out where the new hair is growing. (The entire back of my head is shaved from the surgery) (first was an area of unshaven hair, yesterday is new hair inside area of incision)  Is there any particular reason my hair is coming out???

Hi there.

I am not sure about the actual reason about this hair fall problem but theoretically, if the blood supply is affected by any reason, in your case, maybe the surgery, then hair cannot grow properly, and weaken existing hair follicles.  These affectation in blood supply can be microscopic and cannot be addressed accurately.  With time, and with good healing, the blood circulation should recover completely.  If this persists beyond a month or two, then I suggest you have this evaluated by a doctor or a dermatologist.  Regards and hoping for a full recovery.
