Hand Tremors

I had been diagnosed with situational depression and have been on 50mg of Zoloft for about 2 1/2years. About a year ago I had an artificial disc replacement between C4 and C5 in my neck due to a herniated disc pressing on my spinal cord, which at the time doctors believed reduced my motor skills in my hand. 3 months after the surgery I began to notice tremors in this same hand when I feel any stress or anxiety. One Neurologist told me this was Parkinson's and another told me it was an Essential Tremor and was unrelated to my surgery. I have recently stopped taking Zoloft hoping these tremors were drug induced and they seem to be subsiding but feel extermely emotional, am I in denial?

Thanks for the encouraging response. I am extremely frustrated since there is no real test for Parkinson's and I just "feel" I have to know for my mental health. I'm so sorry you are in pain, and I can only hope you find the answers as well. I am going to take you advice and see a muscle disorder specialist and a 3rd Neurologist but I almost feel the more diagnosis I get the more confused I get. I just want to know what to do next or what's happening to me.

Parkinsons and essential tremors can be confussed. they are almost the same. i was diagnosed with essential tremor and i really have cervial dystonia. there is a family history on my mothers side of the women with head tremors. they all have essential tremors, but i have the painful one. when you feel stressed it can acctually bring on the tremors more. get in touch with a muscle disorder doctor that can give you some motor skill tests and they can determine on what you have. it is depressing when your body is telling you something and a doctor wont listen to what we are telling them. i have been going through this with my head tremors for about 2 years now and i take botox shots in my neck for the tremors. i am still in alot of pain, but i am bound and determined to find something that will help me... dont give up.. keep searching and trying. you will find your answers, i promise!!!
best of luck to you and God bless...
