: A friend of mine has been complaining for quite a few weeks about numneous in his feet and
handsHand or foot spasms
Hand tremor. I have noticed that when he walks he tends to stumble from side to side. He also urinates quit frequently and can't hold it for a "
normalNormal saline flush amount of time". He is 30 yrs of age and is in great shape, do to years of Bodybuilding. He has used steroids in the past for his shows, I say this thinking that may or may not have an impact on the answer to his condition.

The symptom you describe sounds like a peripheral neuropathy, a condition in
which there is damage to the peripheral nerves which suppliy sensation to the limbs.
If these are damaged it can
leadLead poisoning to clumsiness in addition to the sensations of tingling
and numbness.
There are numerous causes of this condition ranging from side effects of
drugs including growth hormone (abused by some bodybuilders ), hereditary,
vitamin deficiencies, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and associated with infalmmatory disorders like lupus.
I have not found an association withanabolic steroid abuse
This should be investigated by a neurologist as soon as possible and I would
encourage you to have your friend see one as soon as possible.
If he wants an appointment in the Cleveland Clinic the number for
appointments is (216) 444 5559
