: On some, if not most mornings, my hands (primarily my left hand) itch. It does not seem to be an itch associated with a rash or dry skin. It usually passes after some scratching and time. Does this indicate anything neurological?

Hello Michael,
Occasionally itchy palms can be seen as one of the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. There are usually other symptoms that also occur in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome which include tingling of fingers, pain in the hand which awakens the patient from sleep and in long standing cases weakness of the hands can occur. However  itchy palms by itself are not an indication of a specific neurologic disease.  You may want to make sure that you do not have some type of dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) that could account for your symptoms.
