My daughter has been diagnosed with Hashimoto's encephalopathyCerebral hypoxia 4 months ago. She had headaches, personalityBorderline personality disorder Histrionic personality disorder Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder Paranoid personality disorder Personality disorders changes, difficulty walking, tremorsEssential tremor Familial tremor Hand tremor Tremor, inability to remember short-term facts, brain fog and difficulty with her schoolPreschooler development Preschooler test Preschooler test or procedure preparation School age child development School age test or procedure preparation School-age children development work. While on the steroids, she began to have palpitationsHeart palpitations, tachypnea, tachycardiaArrhythmias Multifocal atrial tachycardia Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt) Sick sinus syndrome Ventricular tachycardia, difficulty swallowing and chest pain. She was placed on a 6 week course of pulse steroid of 150 mg on Saturday and Sunday and we did not see much improvement. As she was weaning of the steroids, she began having increased leg pain described as burning, pins and needle sensation as well as knee pain. Her headaches increased in intensity, increased swallowing difficulty and now she has developed venous pooling in both legs from her toes to above her knees when she stands or dangles her legs. She also complains of a dry mouth and drinks massive amounts of water and goes to the bathroom many times a day Over the weekend, the dry mouth has increased and yesterday she drank almost 2 1/2 to 3 gallons of water and went to the bathroom 23 times ! Last night she was up at least l0 times to urinate. The color of her urine is clear most of the time. What is happening to my daughter? She has seen an endocrinologist, neurologist and lastly the rheumatologist and prior to her last appointment in April, all of her lab tests were normal. The labs they drew last Friday have not returned. What do you think is happening? Her pulse rate is over l60 when she walks with her walker and resting pulse is only down to l48. At night, her breathing is rapid and shallow and at times her lips appear bluish around the outside of the lip line. Her physicians do not know what the problem is but I see her every day and she continues to deteriorate. The autoimmune antibodies were over 13,000 and have gone down to 3,000 with the steroids. Is it possible that her adrenal gland is being attached by other autoimmune antibodies? Or could she have Lupus or another autoimmune disease that has not shown up in her lab work? What do you think? I watch her daily and she's getting worse instead of better.
After reading your post I'm a little concerned. I have not yet been diagnosed with Hashi's I will know on Mon. I have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, Neuropathy, and connective tissue disease. I keep getting tonsillitis with my throat swelling, have had pneumonia a couple of times, and been to the ER with chest pains atleast 10x in the last month. My migraines are worse than ever, my mind is gone, I can't hardly walk. My legs are horribly in pain, electrical/burning, twisting, pulling, needle poking, asleep. My mouth and lips are very, very dry, and I have to pee every 20 minutes. My urine is clear. I went to the emergency room and got an antibiotic shot, not sure what it was? I don't know if my diagnosis will help you at all but I will pray for you. God Bless
