Have pain on the left side of the back of my head.

Since around february of this year(2008) I've been experiencing pain i the back of my head the left side. And its just been getting worse over the months...Should I go see a neurologist about this..Its throbbing and everyday....sometime when i go up a flight of stairs or do something in a fast motion it stops me right in my tracks...for about 2 minutes...but constantly through the day the pain is the...Sitting in a chair and turning my head makes the pain worse and sometime laying down in the bed is more painful...what could it be and should I go see a specialist.?

Hi.

The most common reasons for this pain would include muscle strain or a vascular form of headache (like a migraine).  These are mostly due to stress or inadequate rest.

Systemic problems such as that of increasing blood pressure may also initially manifest with this condition so you may also want to have your blood pressure checked.  

Sometimes, this type of pain may also be the initial manifestation of fibromyalgia, which is characterized by tender spots in the body and pain along predefined points.

It is best to have this evaluated by your doctor to narrow down the possibilities.  Regards and God bless.
