Have you experienced severe headache and nausea after Chiari decompression surgery?

My 7 y.o. son had a decompression surgery on Nov 21st.The dura and the Arachnoid were opened during the surgery. My son was symptoms free prior to the surgery, but had a growing syrinx hence the needed decompression. He started experiencing severe headaches and nausea shortly after the surgery. The MRI is showing no reasons for headaches (no swelling or leakage). The doctors at this point don't know why he is experiencing these headaches. The headaches are so extreme that he was readmitted in the hospital and given morphine for 3 days. He was on steroids for 10 days, but the second they stopped them the headaches came back full force. The fact that the doctors are not giving us any answers and are clueless of why he is having this kind of pain is making me very worried. Have any of you experienced any similar pain post surgery? For how long? What helped? I am very desperate. Watching my baby suffer like this is unbearable.
