Head pains

I've been suffering from skewer like pains in my head for about the last few months, it usually starts through either of my eyes and goes down through my head towards my neck.  It makes me hold my head at the front and back and can last from anything from a few mintues to all night.  I've had my eyes tested as this was the first thing I thought it could be but was told my eyes are fine no need for a new prescription.  I'm only 27 and this is starting to affect my everyday life.  Do you have any suggestions for me ? or would you suggest I seek advice from my GP ?

I would love to see a response to this question. I am expieriening all the time head pains that are throught out my brain it seems. In different areas at different times. Some feel as if there headaches but others are a stabbing feeling in the core of my head. I have never really been a vitim of headaches so its extremley bothering. Its been going on for about 2 months now.
