Head pressure , MRI done two spots what could it be

Hi : I am  a 41 year old female ,in August of 2006  started getting severe , head pressure ,,and almost felt as i was weak too. Weakness in right eye ,and also running along jaw. Went to ER terrified ..never had headaches..no illness except MVP , They said it was anxiety sent me home. Went home , was worse..saw a neurologist who said MRI. Had one done w no contrast..and he doubted would show anything due to my office visit all normal reflex. Two spots showed on frontol lobe of brain.I was surprised..am terrified.. Neurologist said it could be inflammation.. whats type may that be?? also, now he wants one w contrast.. have allergies..is that safe.. TY any answer wopuld be helpful Kitlyn

The two things that come to mind are MS or Lyme Disease. Lyme can cause the same lesions on the brain that MS does and cause weakness in the face and jaw like you describe plus all types of head pressure and pain. I'd request a Lyme test but keep in mind that it is NOT always accurate. Another option is to go on a trial of antibiotics to see if that helps. Good luck.

By the way, I just had an mri with contrast. Allergic reactions to the contrast agent are "very rare" according to the techincian who did it. Just remember to drink plenty of water afterwards to flush it all out of your system.

Sorry, I hope I didn't worry you about the MS. My sister has it and a friend so I guess to me it's a common thing. It could also be NOTHING serious. If it is MS, there are some very promising new drugs and it can be managed. No reaction at all to the contrast and I was very worried and anxious I would have a reaction. It's just a pain to lay there for so long that's all.

I hada  lyme test in ER but not sure if or what results ever came back neurologist never told me .I was exposed to a lyme tick and took it to the DR and my mother just reminded me ..that was in 97 ..i never had this trouble then. But your rt i will remind DR. Ms?? of dear;. well it would be better than a brain tumor. Ty so very much. What were your reactions to the contrast i almost don't want to do it..but know i must .TY very much Kit

This summer had severe headache which was highly unusual.  First doc said tension headaches. Next day had problems with light/nausea and vomiting.  Got to new doc, she ordered labs and some specifically for Rocky Mtn spotted fever, Lyme and MRI.  Called with results and said I had a brain tumor (she was excited to have discovered it); when I asked about labs she looked and said I had high antibodies (IgG 480) for RMSF.  After 2 weeks on doxycycline headaches returned.  Stopped doxy and told doc, but she felt that with continued high antibodies that I should be on more doxy.  Tried again, headaches returned.  So researched and found her approach would help Lyme, but not RMSF...no one knows when antibodies start decreasing (CDC and local immunologist.) Immunologist said I didn't have the expected rising IgE for RMSF, so thought is that perhaps it was Erlichiosis which is another regional tickbite as well as the RMSF earlier.

Had Gamma Knife Surgery (Oct 6) one month ago, 3 weeks of skull numbness (not really a problem), and have had a couple of severe headaches when using cortisone for asthma with ragweed. Take Migquin/headaches (Tylenol and muscle relaxant)and Phenergan controls vomiting (sedating).  Both work for me...takes a day to recover.  I felt intracranial pressure before and after GKS, but this week feel better, but am now monitoring sulfites, tyramine, etc...always careful with caffeine.  So for me, with a 1.5 cm3 CPA meningioma, I didn't show symptoms until a tickbite built up pressure.  Also I've found with GKS you just take a day at a time since the radiation works over time.  Good Luck!

I am telling everyone with symptoms like yours to check their mouths for silver fillings.  Mercury escapes from silver fillings and cause neurological problems. there are 125 known symptoms.

Google "symotoms of mercury fillings"  (silver fillings) and safe removal of mercury fillings.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
