Headache concerns

I have been suffering with BAD headaches for the last 2 months. Every day! The headaches are on the right side originating at my temple. The temple becomes really sore after the headache if I am able to get rid of it. I am also experiencing what feels like a crick in my neck on the same side. Also, my scalp is tender, & hurts when I brush it. I have also found two small sores on my scalp that come & go, almost with the headaches.

Another thing I have noticed lately is I can feel my pulse on the same side of my head if  am laying on it.

Primary doc thinks it is high B/P. I have been put on Hyzaar & b/p is down but headaches persist.

Any other ideas? These headaches are getting REALLY old!

i understand your frustration, all i can offer is 5 years of pain, frustration and the constant referals to anxiety and depression, which of course anyone will suffer in due course of these sorts of problems,
i trust you are looking for answers yourself and not just relying on Doctors, they are human too and the head is a universe all of its own,
i have some suggestions, not answers
by far the most important is finding an interest, something you can put your whole self into, this means an active interst, ie learn a musical instrument, paint, write, etc, oddly this is not a very well researched area, but the mind sometimes needs to access some of its creativity and it doesnt care about whether you feel pain or not.
do the alternative thing, give up coffee and sugar (look at the contents of foods) for a couple of weeks, try not having dairy products, then drininking loads of milk, stuff like that, also things like float tanks, accupuncture etc
getting away from the TV, i did that and it had amazing results, not that the pain was better, but i could cope with it better
exercize, read comics that make you laugh,
the idea is to play with your life, see what it really needs and what it only thinks it needs
and never think you are alone, and sometimes thats not easy, but the fact is you will potentially grow to be mentally tougher than most, you will discover much more than what lies on the surface of life and later in the future this may be a blessing
a big spiritual hug to you

I have daily excruiating headaches to the point to where i cannot go to class, or the store, or clean my house.  But I also have vestibular dysfunction in both left and right ears, and my right ear is 84% abnormal and I am told that may be the cause of my headaches.  I have a prescription of vicodin, and it worked like a dream but my doctors took it away from me to see if it was rebound, which it wasnt, and now they refuse to give me anything.  I seriously want to cry!!!! Why did they do that to me and why didn't they give it back to me?????  My headaches are paralyzing daily and failing out of school. Someone with any advice, I would be so thankful!!!!!!!  my email is ***@****

Thank You,

Crystina

PS.  I'm only 21 and no one is helping me.  I've had no diagnosis and seen 12 doctors in one year.  I am tired of this

I am 34 years old. As far as past headaches, If I have 2-3 a year...it is unusual.

My Dr. is supposed to be scheduling me a cat scan. Although I am not real sure exactly what she is looking for.

Thanks for the quick reply!

If you are over 60 years old you need to have an urgent evaluation for temporal arteritis - an inflammatory condition affecting the temporal artery which can also result in blindness

Also, if you are over 40 and have never had headaches vefore, you should have an evaluation for an underlying secondary headache disorder, that is, have things like a growth or mass exluded by a neurological examination plus or minus a brain scan

Typically migraine headache is a unlateral throbbing headache with nausea but is a diagnosis of exlcusion - so you should see your local neruologist for these reasons. Good luck
