Health problem

Hi

I had done hair rebounding just two weeks before, the hair specialist had applied the straigtening cream all over my scalp which caused irritation and itching. But after doing the rebounding process I felt ok.

Currently I am highly concerned as few of my friends told me that the application of straigtening cream over scalp will cause future health problems

Is it true ? if so ..what should I do to prevent it?

Kindly answer

Hi.

Any chemical that is applied to the skin (the scalp, in your case) could potentially cause harmful effects. Many hair products nowadays have been produced without extensive testing which is why the incidence of diseases or injuries related to these chemicals have been rising.

Since you suffered some irritation and itching with initial application of the chemical, it is likely that frequent exposure to that chemical may produce more severe dermatological conditions. The only way to prevent future health problems would be to not get exposed to the hair products.

You should be careful when being exposed to such chemicals.

Hope this helps.
