Help in finding a neurogist in NYC who deals with the later effects of pain due to a previous traumatic brain injury

Hi, My husband and I live in New York City and we are desperately looking for a neurologist who specializes in the later effects of a traumatic brain injury: My husband suffered a traumatic brain injury over 20 years ago and although he is fine mentally, he is beginning to have severe and frequent headaches.  We have been to three neurologists already and NOBODY has properly helped or diagnosed.
If you know of any doctors who fit the above description, we would be very grateful!
Thank- you!

There is one named Jeffrey Brown in Great Neck that you need to stay away from (IMHO...ane experience).  He is a neurosurgeon so you may not have crossed paths with him or never would.  If you are interesting in knowing why do some google searches on his name and Ohio.  I'll spare everyone from my rantings about my experience with him.

There are several headache centers in NYC, but I know of one that reportedly has some great physicians.  Takes four months to get appointment, busy front office, but docs and assists very thorough and have many medications and treatments to offer, and if a neuro didn't help you, these folks can.  Some of the docs are:  Dr. Remmes and Dr.  Mauskop.

Your husband may have late-acquired post-traumatic headache, or post-concussion syndrome, or even migraines that either come from the TBI or not.  Since they may have reoccurred from the TBI, I DO think it might be a good idea to have a scan done, if you haven't already.  If you have had a scan done with your recent neurologists, then find out where that radiology report and the pictures themselves are, and ask those people to have just those items forwarded to your new doc.

Now, at New York University Medical Center, they have both a Pain Management Center AND a Brain Injury Treatment Program.  Medical care at a university hospital is always just about the best you can get.

By the way, migraines are sometimes treated by Tramadol, which you can search the internet and buy it online, I do believe, since it's not a scheduled substance.  Hope some of this helps.  I'm not in NYC, but I found these things for you.

I don't have a name for you, but I feel your pain. I paid a fortune to see a high priced doc on Park Ave, only to have him fall asleep during the appointment, then he woke up to tell me to take *tylenol and sudafed* (I cannot take sudafed due to my heart, but he slept through that, apparently). He also missed my tumor.
