My husband was diagnosed with Parkinsons Plus MSA 3 years ago. He is now to where he can only sleep on one side due to drooling, he can hardly stand without looking like his legs are going to buckle. He also leans toward the right without realizing he is doing it. Tell me what the next symptoms are and can you tell me if the medicine his doctor has him on is doing any good, he is on StalevoStalevo 100 Stalevo 125 Stalevo 150 Stalevo 200 Stalevo 50 Stalevo 75. Also is there anything that can be done for him, it is breaking my heart to watch the vitalVital-d man he was at 49 to the man he is now just 3 years later. Is there anything as far as research being done on this disease.
Parkinson’s disease is a chronic disease and its symptoms get worse with time. Some patients become severely disabled while others experience only minor motor disruptions.
NINDS is conducting research in laboratories at NIH. These new studies are focusing on the etiology of parkinsons disease. They are looking for genetic factorsFactor ix complex and environmental factorsFactor ix complex which trigger the disease.
Other studies are going on to test new drug therapies. Please check the link below you may find some useful information there.
