Herpes related to Bell's Palsy

Herpes related to Bell's Palsy

I just have a question that needs to be answered.  I have a friend and she had been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy.  Being that this is a neurological problem, would this cause a false reading in a herpes specific IgG test????

Please I need to know...

No, it would not.  The Bell's Palsy, if anything, could have been caused by the Herpes simplex I virus.  Or the two could be coincidental.  Approximately 90% to 95% of all adults carry the HSV I (cold sore) virus, even if they never remember having cold sores.  My post-doctoral work was in Immunology and we were studying this very topic.

With that being said, I was diagnosed with bell's palsy last week when I hit 31 weeks pregnant, can my baby be infected by this.  Also being though it is caused by HSV I which I have never had or never knew i had, does this mean I can possibly have given it also to my seven year old daughter?  I am in the dark and very worried.  This is all new to me and very scary.  Also if this is the case does this mean that I can not breastfeed? Please help?
