High Blood Pressure Medications

I'm a single mom, 5' 6" and a little overweight with 187 pounds. I' ve had high blood pressure for about the past 5 years. I hardly exercise, as being cuban I eat lots of rice and breads. I don't like many vegetables and have contracted Hep-C. However, not severe and li ... [More] ver is in good shape. At the beginning the doctor prescribed for me Atenolol. Then after about a year of taking Atenolol I started getting an uncontrollable cough anywhere I may have been. My doctor changed my medication to Lisinopril-HCTZ and now for the past 5 months I started getting the same cough and it gets to a point where the coughing is so intense that I start gagging and have to run to the bathroom to throw up a sticky clear and huge phlem. I feel like if my guts are going to come out of how bad it gets. The cough, gets to a point where it gags me, my nose gets completely stuffed, my eyes will get all full of tears and then the cough have a wheezing sound. I know all of this is caused by the Beta blocker but what other medication (without diuretics) can I take ?

Keep you blood pressure under control by proper diet and weight reduction. You are advised to keep yout health in check by salt restriction and cholesterol reduction in your diet. There are many alternatives to beta blockers and you can easily get hold of them with a prescription near your physician:
