High Calcium Levels lead to Stroke?

My mom is in ICU after being rushed to the hospital Friday morning after a seizure. Upon arriving, blood work showed that her calcium levels were extremely high. She is currently conscious but confused and in pain. Two different neurologists in the hospital disagree about the cause of the incident; one thinks it was a stroke that just happened to have seizures with it, the other doesn’t think a stroke was involved.

Back Story: Two years ago, my mom was in a motorcycle accident and shattered and arm and had quite the fall at 70 MPH. She came out of the incident relatively fine, seeming to be almost unaffected by it. About a year later, she started having intense neck pain, to the point that the last 6 months she has been able to do almost nothing but lay in bed and read. Doctors have looked at her neck and have never found anything to be alarmed at and have never found a cause. They continuously indicate that she should just live with the pain through pain management.

Because of the pain, she has been unable to be active and rarely is hungry or feeling well enough to eat. She hates the pain killers, so she takes massive amounts of ibuprofen, which in turn causes her stomach pains and thus leads to her lack of hunger. Because of these stomach pains, she took a lot of Tums, which the doctors think lead to the high calcium levels and think that it may have cause the incident (stroke, seizure, other, both?). Based on the initial CT scan, the doctor on hand said it couldn’t be a stroke and that all the problems had to be attributed to the high calcium. Now three days later, the other neurologist at the hospital is convinced that it was a stroke.

We do not want this to happen again and really want her to feel well enough to have an active life again. We are very curious of the cause, and are seeking to figure out if there is any correlation with how crappy she had been feeling before the incident or simply a byproduct of consuming too much Tums. if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on Neurologists we can send her MRIs to we would appreciate the help. Or even just good questions to ask her doctor when we see him. Any answers or questions would be extremely helpful.
