: I have had 5 spinal taps.  The first failed the Doctor could not get in, however it
did cause a spinal headache.  The second one gave a spinal pressure reading of 0 laying supine.
The third gave a spinal pressure reading of 8.  The fourth they read the pressure both supine
and standing.  supine was 17 and standing was 57+ the scale only went to 57.
The only relief I get from this headache is laying down.  When sitting the pain increases.
When standing for more than a few minutes it becomes unbearable.
My Doctor is looking into the possibility of an occlusion in the veins of my brain.
Do you have any insights or thoughts on what the problem could be.  I am at
the end of my rope.  I have not been able to work in 2.5 months and have been
dealing with this problem for over 10 months.  Please help!!

Dear Dee:
I am not quite sure about the history pertaining to your headaches and what led your doctor to perform 5 spinal taps. I am wondering if there were any other studies done such as a CAT scan or MRI?
If you have not had any imaging studies I would think that this might be in order now to verify the cause of your headaches.
Perhaps if you were to give us more information we may be able to better help you with your questions.
Good Luck!
