About 8 months ago, I began experiencing hip pain in my right hip when standing for any period of time (i.e., fishing on the side of a pond or lake). The pain went away when I sat down. Since then the hip pain has grown more intense and beginning about 6 months ago, I have 'shin splint' pain in addition to hip pain in the right leg. Sometimes the shin really lights up but recently I've noted that instead of pain, the shin feels prickely. The hip pain is becoming more intense when either standing or walking for more than 10 or 15 minutes. It's not a sharp pain--more of the strong radiation variety. Sitting down alleviates the pain. No pain in low back other than what's there in any 66 year old male.
Any thoughts or advice? I will not go to a chiropractor.
