Horner's Syndrome

Posted By Linda on April 09, 1998 at 19:22:49:

I am a 47 year old female and I was diagnosed with Horner's Syndrome at the age of 41.  The pupil on my right side had set and would dilate or contract.  I have endured what they called ocular migraines on the right side of my head since that time.  Recently though it seems like I am having what I call spasms but the pain is very severe and lasts anywhere from a half hour to an hour and a half.  After the severe pains subside I still endure what I would call a migraine.  It seems as though the pain starts in my throat and then shoots up through the middle of my head and finally amasses in or around the eye but the whole right side of my head hurts.  There is some sweating involved but not consistently.  This normally occurs while I am in a lying position but once it starts it seems there is no stopping it no matter what position my body is in.  I have gone to my GP and he has referred to a neurologist but I cannot see him until May 7.  He has prescribed  cataflam, skelaxin and darvocet.  What I would like to know is if this is a permanent condition or is there a  cure for it?  Also I read online where it is really easy to misdiagnose Horner's Syndrome and could very well be Raeder's Syndrome.  Is this possible that this could have happened?
