My daughter of 3/12 has a hypothalamic hamartoma type 2b associated with gelastic sezures(every 30 to 45 minutes apart), and behavior disorders.  We have done a ton of investigation but have been unable to get a answer on the following.
Is there a testing mechanism(spect?) that will confirm a particular area of the hamartoma that is causing the seizures or hot spots, if it is not the entire lesion.  I ask this knowing that if there is a safe way to do this without inserting a depth electrode, Stereotactic Radiofrequency Lesioning may be a good way to kill these hotspots.
Please email me directly as It may be a while before I get back to this link.
Thank You,
Daryl Rue
