I am in Limbo

The left side of my jaw is numb and my left ear has a constant screeching. This has gone on for months on.

I had a couple of MRI's and the neurosurgeon said he thought I had MS sent me to a neurologist who had me take some tests. One was a Lumbar Puncture which made me sick for a week. The other was some tests that gave me shocks in my hand and foot around the ankle. It lasted two hours.

When I returned the neurologist said my Lumbar Puncture was clean but one of the other tests I reacted as if I had MS, but because I'm 62 years old he doubts it's MS, so I had a couple of tests for Lyme Disease. The first was clean, I haven't heard about the other.

My second MRI apparently shows more brain lesions so I'm getting worse apparently. But we still have no idea what I'm getting worse with.

I will be seeing this neurologist towards the end of August which I'm a little concerned about because this is taking so long. Should it be taking this long?
