I'm in MAJOR PAIN

Hello
I had injections in my neck and shoulder area, in Sept.2007 and I'm getting shooting pains going down my arm. I had 2 surgeries on my shoulder decompression and Slap 2 repair and still in major pain. I'm wondering can you get nerve damage from injections, that were done in the office.
when going to a Ortho he told me the pain I'm having is not caused by the shoulder, I'm lost now.. If there is damage to the nerves can they do anything to fix it? The pains started right after the injection the Dr. Stated something about idiotpathic I know I'm not spelling it right CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?
