Indentation in top of head

I was really hoping for a suggestion as to why I may have developed an indentation in the top of my head. At first I thought I was crazy, and that it was impossible for that to happen, but over the last few months it seems to have grown and now anyone who feels the top of my head can easily feel it. It scares me, especially since my husband had brain surgery less than 2 years ago- (symptoms completely different of course) I am 35 years old, the only time I remember hitting my head really hard is when I was in elementary school and I fell and hit my head on a tile floor. I have had a history of passing out and having seizures but the doctors never figured out for sure what caused it and it hasn't happened for a few years. The best they came up with was blood sugar, and dehydration as a cause for those episodes, although I never had a MRI or anything of my head. I don't get pains from it, it may be a little tender if I press on the indent kind of hard. Is there any condition that would cause my skull to cave in? please help!

Wow thank you everyone...I have been worried about the dents in my skull too! After reading everyone's comments I put my glasses on my head...where I wear them 75% of the time and lo and behold !!! the nose pieces fit exactly into the dents in my head. Thank you for bringing that possibility to my attention. Saved me from wasting my time at the Dr.'s and from having expensive and dangerous testing done.

Wow, thanks for the info! I think you hit the nail on the head.
I looked it up and even though it seems to be acquired by younger people, it's possible that other things can cause it too so maybe it can affect older persons as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parry%E2%80%93Romberg_syndrome
I've had a long term tooth abscess, so maybe the chronic inflammation helped cause this for me. I just hope it doesn't go onto my face, my head I can manage.
Hi Jenny, I had a tooth abscess too!!, back in August. The antibiotics didn't clear it up so  the tooth had to extracted.  This dent appeared in September time. I've had a skull xray  a few weeks ago and yesterday I collected the results - good news is that there is no bone loss. I wonder if the antibiotics affected my gut and caused a leaky gut. I'm doing everything to increase my immunity and to repair my gut lining. please keep me posted on any news.

I too have a dent on my forehead, it appeared approx 8 months ago, it's oval shaped and approx 15mm wide. It's situated  above my left eyebrow but more to the left, nearer to my temple. I've had my bloods checked and also vit D - all of them are in the normal range. I'm off to see my GP in a few days time as I believe it's increased in size a little bit compared to when I first noticed it.  I thought a drop in estrogen might have been responsible (I'm perimenopause) but I'm not experiencing any other  estrogen deficiency symptoms,so if anything it's the opposite.  I've heard progesterone deficiency can cause bone loss too, which might be relevant in my situation. The only other thing I do, is clench my jaw during my sleep and I'm wondering if there is a connection as I've clenched so hard in the past that I've cracked a root filling! I promise I'll keep anyone  who's interested updated  - I'll report back as and when

Has anyone found the answer? I also have a dent, I didn't notice until I saw that there is also a bald patch. I'm taking seaweed for low thyroid, but I'm definitely not calcium or magnesium or phosphorous deficient.

Reading this forum has put my mind at ease & I can now avoid a lot of expensive tests.  Perhaps it’s just a sign of aging.  I’m a 41 year old female and have never had any head trauma, don’t suffer from headaches and my two nearly developed parallel dents in the top of my head don’t hurt.  I thought I had caught some sort of skull collapsing disease but it must just be how some people age.

Meant to say NEWLY developed, not nearly...
Anything new with that dent. I have one too little freaked out about it. Going for mri next week
I was concerned over my indents as well, but come to find out I am a sunglassses on top of my head person.   The collagen separates to allow for the groove of glasses!
