Internal tremors throughout body

by Shelley101, Jul 11, 2009 05:13PM
About a month ago, I started feeling an internal tremor, which moves through my entire body. It started as a feeling of tremors in my left arm, which spread to both arms and my back and legs in only a couple days. It's like a quick pulsing that I can feel in my hands, legs, neck, and chest. It is not visible - but my family doctor was able to feel the tremor when she squeezed my hands. The tremor seems to be better when I'm lying down and relaxed, but tends to get aggravated when I engage in physical activity - such as going for walks, or carrying heavy things (like groceries). It seems to disappear when I sleep, but as soon as I wake up and start to move around I can feel the tremor again. It is a constant tremor - which keeps the same rhythm. I've tried everything - getting extra rest, trying a balanced diet, but nothing seems to alleviate it. My muscles don't feel weak per say, but activity certainly flaires up the tremor, and makes things like writing, or typing feel difficult. For example, after I type for a long time (say at work for a week) - my hands tremor a little (very fast).

I had blood work, and was checked for thyroid problems - but nothing came up. Up until a couple months ago - I'd always been very healthy. I don't have much in the way of other symptoms - other than I had unexplained stomach pain for a few weeks before the tremors started. I'm worried I have something very wrong - are my symptoms consistent with any neurological issues? What should doctors be looking for? Any help is greatly appreciated!

What is your age?
Parkinsonism gives tremors called intentional tremors whenever you want to do something.
Liver disorders also give tremors, are you alcoholic?
What are other symptoms do you have rigidity etc?
Take care and visit a neurologist for an examination.

I am only 22 years old... which from what I've read seems young for Parkinsons... is internal tremors a symptom? The tremors are best at rest (not worse).

I don't drink alcohol - I think my liver function was aok the last time they did my blood work... but maybe that is something to think about?

I don't have much in the way of other symptoms - just the unexplained stomach ache prior to developing the tremors. I don't have any pain. A little bit of neck tenderness. Hand feels a bit tight in making a fist.

To: Shelley101,
At your age there is not need to think in that line & exclude all the posibilities.

It might be anxiety induced/ migraine induced and visit a neurologist for examination to confirm.

Take care!
