Interpreting a brain MRI

Interpreting a brain MRI

I am a 41 year old female with an artificial mitral valve (surgery in 1998) who takes Coumadin daily.  After a bout of dizziness and an INR of 4.9 my doctor ordered an MRI of the brain.  My results read:
No evidence of stroke or hemorrhage.  Small area of increased signal intensity on the T2-weighted images adjacent to the anterior horn of the left lateral ventricle. There is a second punctate area of increased signal intensity in the right basal ganglion.  These are most likely due to old ischemic injury with associated gliosis.  This would be an unusual presentation for a demyelinating process:  however would recommend clinical correlation.  This does not have the appearance for stroke.
I have a copy of this report and I have been looking online for answers.  I cannot find anything that explains this wording.  Can you please help me interpret this?
Thank you for your help!!!
Anne
