Can you mention what treatment she is receiving for her transverse myelitis? Also, was the cause behind the TM identified?
Research has shown that as many as 80% patients who suffer from Transverse Myelitis continue to have significant long term disabilities. A small percentage (5%) will have some other lesion elsewhere in the nervous system.
Since she is in India, Multiple Sclerosis is not really a big concern.
It is difficult to comment any further about your mother's prognosis as I do not know the cause and course of the illness.
