Is it possible to get Epilepsy from drugs?

Two of my very good friends were dating for a long time. About a year ago the man had his first seizure for 45 minutes. They ran all kinds of tests and found nothing.
A few weeks later she had her first seizure. They ran tests on her and found out she has Epilepsy.
In total 4 people from their town has had their first seizure in the past months. Is their a link? Is it possible they were expirementing with drugs or something?

More history is needed of course, but drugs can certainly cause seizures. Another point is that many things can look like seizures, so it's important to determine whether or not the event they had was truly an epileptic phenomenon. Finally, other things such as environmental toxins can cause seizures, not just drugs. Years ago in Canada, a number of people who'd been eating shellfish and mollusks that were poisoned with bacteria from the ocean/sea came down with seizures and cognitive changes due to the poison which interacted with brain cells. Just something to think about.
