Is it psychiatric or neurological...or both?

by Natalia_de_la_isla, Aug 03, 2007 02:42PM
Hello all,

I am not sure what is wrong with me.  I'm 27 and have had all sorts of issues with physical and psychiatric health since I was a small child.  When I was little, my right leg would go numb and I would have trouble walking.  This happened on and off for years, but hasn't happened since.  I have had OCD and Depression since I was about 9.  I lived in an abusive household (both parents were terrible and I saw things nobody should ever see).  Since age 18 I've had GERD because the sphincter between the esophagus and stomach won't close properly.  Since about 20, I have trouble controlling my bowels and I have to pee very often as to not have a small accident.  I have recently been diagnosed with Attention deficit, dissociative amnesia and depersonalization disorders.  I'm taking all sorts of meds.  I suffer from Chronic fatigue and have had several "diarrheal attacks"  since December.  I am also very susceptible to urinary tract infections.  Sometimes my head feels very tingly and lately I get a lot of headaches.  I've also become extremely photophobic.  Is this psychiatric or neurological...or both?

Thanks,
Natalia_de_la_isla

Oh, I forgot to mention that sometimes, when I wake up at night, my legs are numb and can't move.  I fall down and have to wait till I can move them again.  I had posterior spinal fusion when I was 16 from the thorasic to the lower lumbar; basically my whole back excluding my neck.
