Is it really CP?

Hi..just found out about this site. I've been searching for answers my whole life. I am a GP in a remote part of India. My question is about my 40 yr old older sister. From childhood she had problems walking(motor), slurred speech and drooling. but back then she could at least walk around and take care of herself to a certain extent. She looks perfectly normal physically and her sensory system remains unaffected. Over the past 20 years we have been slowly noticing a gradual decline in her motor powers especially in her legs. Now it has become so bad that she can hardly move around the house and she needs care 24*7.
Doctors keep telling us it is cerebral palsy. But I'm not convinced. She is perfectly normal mentally, no abnormal movements, no trauma during birth, and her condition is progressing. Can anyone help?
