Is there a link??

my mother dx with ALS in 1978 died in may 1980,her youngest brother 6 years her jr was dx with ALS in march of 1987 died november of 1987. Both had same parents,my daughter was dx with duchennes in march 2007 age 22,died easter sunday 2008. i want to find out if there  is a link.

I am sorry to hear of the familial link. We have worried about one in our family as one of my uncles died of ALS and they are not sure if my Aunt has it (some say yes, some no).

I did not google searching and did not find a link in what I could find, but it was not a good search as too much stuff that should not have been there showed up.

Have you had genetic testing and counseling? The genetic doctor should be able to give you more information.
