Is this epilepsy ?

Is this epilepsy ?

I have had this experiece twice till now. Im a drinker and smoker. In both times, the situation was the same. I had been drinking for 4/5 days continuously usually in the evening. I was smoking heavily. I had no water intake. and i was tired. When i read about epilepsy, I guessed this was some kind of it. Now what happens when i get attacked is that my neck and back part becomes hot, i'm shaking, and I have frequent loss of memory. Memory lasts for only 1/2 mins or less. When I try to speak or listen to others, I can understand because I immediately forget wat i just heard or trying to tell. I also feel fear. But at both times, I was not drunk. Eventhough I had been drinking the previous days. The next morning, when i wake up, I am almost back to normal except some headaches. The first time, when i run to hospital, they said it was seizure(?) and adviced to take rest till morning. I was given some kind of sleeping pill; Since then I hadn't visited any doctor coz i thought it was due to alcohol or smoking. And just 3 days ago, I had the same experience.

What is happening to me? and wat's the solution?

Hi nirmalrai, since when you are into drinking?.The symptoms observd by you are suggestive of korsakoff psycosis(dementia related with vitamin B deficiency).People with history of chronic(years) alcoholism develop this syndrome.Folic acid deficiency is also related with alcoholism.

On stopping alcohol intake, one develops withdrawl (withdrawal) symptoms(tremors, muscle aches etc)

I will suggest you to consult the doctor and get yourself investigated(blood smear etc).Mild sedatives(diazepam) along with vitamin B and folic acid may help.Take care!

Thanks dude. I'm just 25 and have been drinking since age of 20. I dont think alcoholism should be problem with this age. or should it b? All my frends of almost same age has no problem while drinking or smoking. but only i do. first time when i got checked-up, they found nothing abnormal like BP, sugar, urine, sodium, or stuff like that. they just told me to take rest. Im planning to visit Neurologist and possibly take CT scan. Coz my head aches so badly when i have this experience. By the way, I also have myopia.

Any way thank you so much.
