Is this likely to be ALS

Five days ago I had a burning feeling in both forearms.  The next day my forearms were fine, but my hands were shakey, uncoordinated and would switch from feeling cold to hot. I also had a bad feeling of being restless. (had to keep walking around and couldn't be still)  I started looking at ALS symptoms by this time.  Two days ago my right foot felt weak when I walked (seemed like I had to use effort to keep my toe up) and I started have twitching and tingling in my legs and maybe my back.  My hands seem to be fine now.  I measured my leg muscles and the right and left are the same measurements in every aspect.  Physically I can do anything with my left foot and leg as my right, so the weakness may not be real.  I've also had some off and on numbness in my left cheek and thighs.

Without examining you and reviewing your history I cannot make a clinical diagnosis. The limited story you have provided would not be typical for ALS. I would encourage you to speak with your primary doctor about your concerns. They can then make the appropriate referrals if needed. Good luck.

If your name is indicative of your hobbies, you may want check on Lyme as a possibility.  It can cause many different things to happen across different systems.

Have you taken any fluoroquinolone antibiotics lately (levaquin, tequin, avelox, cipro, etc).  They are notorious for causing peripheral nervous system problems such as those you describe.
