La Crosse Encephalitis

by KJHM, Aug 15, 2008 12:31PM
I had La Crosse Encephalitis when I was 4 and I am now 40 and I get terrible headaches with sensitivity to light and stiff neck.  I am curios to know if the headaches have anything to do with the encephalitis I had as a kid.  I have also been diagnosed with HSV type 1 which comes and goes.  Can this be an after effect of encephalitis?  Thank you for any help you can give.

I don't know what my encephalitis was classified as (you say yours was La Crosse) but I had enceph. when I was 3 and I still get migranes and have some problems with my eyes today.  My eyes don't dilate properly and I basically can't see anything when I go out in bright sunlight. I've never had the stiff neck problem but I just wanted you to know that there's someone else feeling your pain in some aspects.
