Leber hereditary optic neuropathy

Where would we find a optic- neurologist?  Would we be better off seeing a neurologist or a opthalmalogist?  My husband has been diagnosed with lebers and he is currently lost central vision in right eye but not left.  He had a blood test with the #11778 as the mutation.  He also has a sister that is completely blind and a nephew also an uncle and cousin.  He also had an MRI which was normal.

where do you guys live. I work for a retina specialist and know of a very good neuro-oph. in Houston, Texas. It would be very much worth it for him to see a retina specialist ASAP though. Tell me your loc. and I may be able to give you some advice on who to go to.
