Left side problems

I am 50 and have Charcot Marie Tooth as do others in my family. I am losing muscle strength on my left side. I have had several episodes which have lasted about 3 days which involve tingling, burning, intense pain. lightning streaks down my body of pain  and muscle weak ... [More] ness on my left side.  My neck and head have hurt and I have had ringing in my ears for most of my life. My parents beat me from the time I was a baby; is there a connection there? After each episode I seem to have lost muscle strength. I have fallen several times as my left leg wouldnt support me. CMT does not explain left side problems. Sometimes I feel like my left side of my face is drooping even though it isnt.
I have had a CAT scan of my lower back but did not find L4/5 problems. Then we did a neck MRI: normal. Brain MRI: normal. My blood results came back good.
My neurologist isnt sure what else to do.  Any advice?
