Leg going numb, what should I do?

by jackk, Apr 21, 2007 12:00AM
I have a herniated disc in my neck, C7, that has been causing me a lot of pain for the last 5 months in my back and right arm and also some tingling in my right arm, it’s squishing my spinal cord.  A neurosurgeon and a orthopedic surgeon have both said I need surgery but now the wait begins for that to happen. In the last few weeks I have been having problems with my legs, they seem to be getting weaker and weaker and I’m getting nervous going down stairs, the legs feel as if they could give out at any time. When I’m walking, the right leg, mostly in the thigh, gets really  tingly like its falling asleep. Could this be caused by the same thing and what can I do to stop this other then surgery? What should I be doing overall while I wait for surgery?
