Long term barbiturate use

Long term barbiturate use

I grew up with an uncontrolled seizure disorder in the days when medication choices for littles one were phenobarbital and mysoline. I had uncontrolled grand mal seizures three or four times a month for several years. By the time I was 10 years old I was taking 120 mg of phenobarb and 375 mg mysoline every day. I also grew up in a violent home with a lot of constant stress. I'm wondering what that kind of consequences that early and long term drug use, seizure activity and constant stress (and a few concussions) have. I still take medication for the seizure disorder (lamictal) and have aura activity once a week or so, though I don't know if that's seizure activity or migraine.

Any information you have about the consequences of that kind long term exposure to barbiturates and stress is greatly appreciated.
