Loss of balance

I've had a few weeks (6-8) where I have had loss of balance and headaches.  These symptoms have steadily improved over the last couple of weeks but still have good & bad days.

I originally had symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath, dizzyness and labile hypertension and have now been put on Perindopril.  I have now had a full neuro exam and was found to have nystgamus (fast left), hyperreflexia on right side of body, positive romberg test and pale disc (fundi).  

I have also developed a popping noise in my left ear, no pain and no loss of hearing.

I've had a CT head (all clear) but have now been referred for an MRI.

Just wondered if anyone could throw some light on these symptoms please.  I keep coming up with MS!
