Loss use of left leg

My father is 92 years old and recently lost ability to lift left leg. He is not in pain but is unable to lift his leg. Did MRI, went to therapy, checked for possible stroke, no stroke. Brain looks young and healthy. Doctor suggested possible Plexus Neuritis, possible nerve damage in lower back. I have looked for info on Plexus Neuritis, but can't find any. Neuro GP suggests going to IU medical center and seeing a specialist. What do you know about Plexus Neuritis, can it be addressed through surgery, time, or drugs?
