I have finally received my results from the lumbar puncture, but am none the wiser - can anyone help?

The results are as follows:

white cell count in CSF 5
red blood cell in CSF 15 with no bacterial growth
CSF IgG index was raised 1.11
CSF IgG was raised up to 18.7
bllod brain barrier 191
oligoclonal bands present
CSF glucose 3.3
and paired serum glucose 4.

Please help someone, this is all double dutch to me!
Thanks

Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Based on your results, I would be highly suspicious of an inflammatory process. I cannot comment more based on limited history, but you should continue following up with your primary doctor. You probably should see a neurologist.

By the way, what did your MRI’s show?

Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.

thanks very much for taking the time to answer my question. My MRI results have also not yet been disclosed to me, however, after the results I was referred for the lumbar puncture.
I have an appointment with the consultant in 2 weeks, where all should become more clear.
Thanks again
