Dear Mam,
Thank you very much for the reply. According with Nerologist suggestion we undergone a MRI scan & MR Angiography of Brain. The main observations after MRI scans are 'Area of restricted diffusion appearing dark on ADC' seen in right superior cerebellum. Other tiny restricted diffusion appearing dark on ADC in right hemi mid brain & hemi pontine region. The Impressions are
1). Acute infarct in superior right cerebellum with multiple tiny acute infarcts in right hemi brain and hemi pontine regions
2). Chronic bleed in left capsuloganglionic region
3). Bilateral periventrivular chronic ischemic region
4). Significant narrowing (>90%) of intracranial segment of right ICA
As you mentioned there may be a possibility of this stroke due to heart disease, because my mother undergone Angeoblast heart surgery in the year 2001 (12 yrs back) later after 2 years don't have any problems but still she is taking her tablets as per our Physician Suggestion. We are really worried due to blood vessel multiple clots, but although she is little weak she looks fine, didn't lost any memory and takes the food properly time to time, she is getting recovering now everyday, but we are really scared for her future due to the risk factors induced with this effects. Any natural therapy or thrombolysis techniques for her to avoid any future attacks?.
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your mother. Recurrent brain infarcts are caused by polycythemia vera, sickle cell disease, atherosclerosis, heart disease like atrial fibrillation, diabetes, hyperviscosity syndromes, smoking, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, septicemia etc. All these result in either narrowing or a brain blood vessel or its occlusion by a clot. Total stroke care which involves maintaining respiration, taking care of heart function, reducing brain edema, thrombolysis etc help the patient recover. Recovery from stroke depends on how soon the blood vessel could be opened by thrombolysis and if at all it can be opened. The area and severity of infarct, the severity of underlying condition and general condition of the patient also govern recovery process.
Please consult your mother’s doctor regarding this. Also, all risk factors mentioned above should be identified and treated. Hope this helps. Take care!
