Lyme disease or something else?

Lyme disease or something else?

I am an 18 year old male who is in in his final week of college. After a long semester of work and not being at home, I would expect to be happy that everything is almost over. However, I am far from feeling that way.

Over the past two months I have been having some problems. About two months ago, I have been having throbbing pains on the right side of my head. Sometimes the pain will go in the other region, but its mostly on the right hand side. I have also had this tingling feeling all over body, especially the past few days. During the night time when I go to sleep, my body is tingling and aching. When I get up in the morning, I feel dizzy and have a headache. Another problem I have been going through is pain in my wrists, ankles and fingers. For the past two days, I have had trouble typing with my right hand and doing other activties. At the same time, my joins have been tingling and had a burning sensation. Finally, my right foot has felt a little weak.

I have been doing a little research and wondering if this could be Lyme disease or another neurological disorder? I have an appointment with a neurologist on the 20th, but I just want to know what others might think it is. :(

Lyme's disease can be treated with antibiotics and if untreated the long term complications only would be neurological.
You are adviced to visit a Physician as all neurological symptoms are not due to Lyme's disease.
Take care!

Could be something as simple as postural, like studying really hard all hunched over a desk and leaning to one side.  Also could be you've temporarily quit eating like you should, and you've developed a little deficiency in the B vitamins and others.  Tension usually lands in the shoulders, might explain headaches and your right-handed clumsiness, some good rub-outs will help that.  There's also some diseases, like diabetes, that affects the joints and can make you feel dizzy if your sugars get too low.  Lyme disease, as you suggested, is indeed possible if you walk around the woods and in fields a lot.

My first thoughts, tho, were to stay well-hydrated and eat enough protein with your carbs.  And in addition to seeing a neurologist, you should also see a general doctor to get the basic labs done and also get a history from you, they look at "the big picture," so as to steer you to the right specialist for whatever ails you.

Thank you so much for the reply. I knew I was going over my head with the Lyme Disease thing. My hand has been feeling a little better as I have been resting it

I still have a question though. My right leg has been feeling "weak" the past few weeks and it almost feels like I am dragging my leg when walking. When I went to the doctors a few weeks ago, they noted that I lost my reflex in my right leg. Could this be a sign of ALS or MS?

Some of your symptoms sound like you may have a damaged disc in your spine as it may be pressing on a nerve as you can have problems without you having back pain and if you have had problems with arms and head it may be the disk is high up.  It probably no where near what is wrong with you.  But definately see a neurologist and have a mri
